Open Baffle Project

This project for an Open Baffle speaker was born from my previous speaker project, the rebuild of my 1970’s Audio Sound Haffner 8077 Studio three-way speakers. After completing this rebuild in December 2014 I was left with the decision what to do next? This rebuild was only an experiment in new drivers and what could be accomplished using DEQX for active cross overs. The problem remained that the cabinet was old and the drivers where causing diffraction due to their less than ideal placement.

The next step looked like having a custom cabinet built at some considerable cost, which would have really finished my experiment and closed down options for anything new. Then the idea occurred to me that Open Baffle was a cheap alternate and something I had to yet tried.
